I was about to archive a folder of shots from a drive over Hwy 20 through the North Cascades. I saw this shot, which I had passed over for a wider view. This morning I worked on it and cropped in a lot to focus on the angles and layers.

What attracted me to this image is the high contrast of the sky and how the soft contrast of land gives a tonal balance.

Our winter snowfall up here in the Cascades is a bit late, not enough to ski, but we are getting psyched. This one also belongs in digital art like the one I posted in Landscapes yesterday.

We are lucky to be enjoying a beautiful day up here in the Pacific NW, starting with this sunrise. We sure felt for all the travelers we saw on the news last night. I hope you all enjoy a nice day with friends and family - safe travels. Jim

I love living in a new view house thanks to my drone (I was standing in my backyard when I shot this yesterday morning).

I've posted more over in the B&W forum. I had the beach almost to myself for a couple hours last week.

This didn't look like much in Bridge, my A7r2 exposed right made the sky look blown, but some heavy PP brought out the clouds.
