    Utah Fall Colors?

Thanks Ben. That's good to hear. It's always more of an adventure your first time somewhere, but I'm looking forward to getting out and going. It's been a miserable year so far. If I'm not mistaken haven't the buses in Zion shut down in November?

    Utah Fall Colors?

I've never done fall colors in Utah although I've been through the state other times of the year. FWIW, I'm looking at going to Cedar City Sept 27 and using that as a base. I'm using this Cedar City webpage as a general guide...

    Utah Fall Colors?

Thanks guys. I'm going to do some internet surfing and see what I can add to what you have given me here.

    Utah Fall Colors?

The park is open. The north rim campgrounds had been closed all season due to construction work to replace water lines and repaving. It was due to open on Sept 1 and they opened up reservations sometime earlier this year. I booked my reservation in June for Sept 1-4. Last week I got an email and...

    Utah Fall Colors?

Today I had my third trip of the year cancelled. It was going to be the north rim of the Grand Canyon Sept 1. I'll just say I'm tired of this BS and it better end soon. Does anybody know when and where the colors tend to run in Utah? I'm flexible to travel but have never been there to see...

Thank you Eric. Sometimes you get lucky. :-) I thought sure I had some really good skimmer photos but they ended up being a major disappointment. You never really know until you get home.

    SEKI NP Knowledge?

I've not been there as an adult and was hoping to get some guidance. Due to the lack of visitors I understand that the wildlife (but specifically bears including cubs) are much more visible/active in the parks now. I understand that the bears tend to be more active in the meadows this time of...

    Osprey

Thanks Jim. I imagine there is a lot of it in all photography these days. I think what annoys me the most is when someone makes a composite image from two totally different photos but doesn't say so. It's still creative but you didn't take a "photo" of the image I'm seeing.

    Osprey

Thanks Jim. Osprey are pretty common in Bolsa Chica. Problem is they usually just sit in the tree when you wait for them. Although I got lucky and actually captured one in flight with a fish in his talons last fall. I think I may have posted it here. Yeah, LR, especially the old version 6 has a...

    Osprey

Thanks Ben and Alan. At my stage in life and my level of ability, other than respecting nature I pretty much just do what I enjoy. Although I never add anything to an image. I only try to clean up what I can.

    Osprey

I took this photo back in February at Bolsa Chica. It was a good day as the Osprey finally did more than sit there while I watched him. During about a 40 minute wait he stretched his wings a few times and finally launched. As you can see, my vantage point was head on. I decided I wanted the...

The terns were really out and feasting at Bolsa Chica last Sunday. I especially like that this guy left me just enough room to capture the catch light in his eye as he searched for a meal.

    Canadian Goslings

Yeah, they really are. I got some other shots of them all waddling by and then making their departure. Fun stuff.

    Canadian Goslings

Thanks Alan, Jim, and Ben. I have another shot where they are all on their left foot although not quite as in unison. Mom was hiking them through the garden at San Joaquin just as I was passing through, going the other way.

I Can't Take You Two Anywhere! Seems the little ones have been into the mud somewhere.

Thanks guys. I had a pretty good day out at San Joaquin Marsh just over a week ago. The swallows were pretty active.

That’s pretty cool Douglas. You and Ansel with the same photograph. :) wish I could have seen it when it was still alive.
