    River Affric, Northern Scotland

This works well as B&W, lots of drama in the sky, nice lighting in post ground foliage, interesting subject matter in fore/mid ground. Nicely done!

    Medano Creek

THanks! Thank you. It was a very interesting creek. Thank you! The clouds were working in my favor this date. Stacking the filters, I was hoping for good seperation between the sky and the clouds as well as some deep contrast to accentuate the late afternoon shadows.

    Medano Creek

Captured about 7 years ago at Great Sand Dunes NP after crossing this frigid creek. For those that haven't been there, it flows in "waves" from the snow melt (you can see the waves or ripples created from the uneven flow in the image). Captured on expired Kodak BW400cn with an ancient Minolta...

    Dicks Overlook in monochrome

Tmax, 100 and 400 are phenomenal films...the resolving power is incredible, just limited by digitization. I have a blog post compiling real resolution of 35mm film with links to the original source...I just copy/pasted/compiled (and gave credit and links to original author!). The digitization...

    Templar Church 13thC

I really like this and B&W is most appropriate for this image and setting.

    Hidden Pond

Thank you Jameel :) I really like TMX film, such a great stock to shoot with. The lighting this day was exactly what I was looking for, subtle tones.

    Dicks Overlook in monochrome

Thank you Alan. And yes, I buy in bulk, 100' rolls which gets me approximately 18 36 exposure rolls (I can roll any length if needed). A bit more economical that way. Right now I have a 100' of TMax 100 and 400, as well as HP5+ and Kentmere 100. I have 2 bulk loaders, 1 with 400 and the...

    Dicks Overlook in monochrome

I posted a digital file in color from a week later than this image so I figured I would share this. Testing out a different film stock (foma 200) as my go to is always Kodak or Ilford, preferebly the T-Grain films. Though this is film is not as sharp or detailed, grainier, it does have a...

    Hidden Pond

Thank you Alan. I had forgotten about this image and my wife was looking through my online storage and suggested I print this. She hates B&W so I knew I must have a decent image if she wanted me to print it, lol! Thank you! :) Thanks Ben! Thanks Jim! Sometimes I leave a location...

    Hidden Pond

This image was about 2 years in the making. I knew what I wanted in my mind but capturing that accurately and at the right time was challenging. I finally settled in on a "compressed" look which worked with what I had envisioned. Captured on Kodak Tmax 100, Nikon FM2n back and Nikon Series E...

    Dick's Overlook

Thank you Alan. I would like to go back for some multi day camping at some point...so many great overlooks in this area, with the hope for good light. It was a gamble on the blooms and I lost out. Weird was that on the ridge across the river, the rhodendron were out in full bloom the...

    Dick's Overlook

A couple months back, my wife and I ventured up into KY and explored some of Big South Fork National Recreation Area by vehicle. We came to this overlook and the Rhodendron was just starting to come out. This overlook is a good 3 or so hours from home and I contemplated an afternoon run...
