Really liking the feeling of isolation in this one. I am going to make it a point to get back into camping this year...I used to really enjoy it, but have gotten away from it. Scenes like this that can only be done by camping are why.
Thanks for the feedback Dean. For #5, this is cropped from the original, to a 7x6 format. The original had a lot more on the bottom that wasn't helping, I looked at more of a square crop about where you suggest, but it was too tight to the reflected pools, and it didn't frame those pools as...
Thank you Sunny. If you ever make it out this way..please, by all means let me know, be glad to show you or anyone else around...
Thank you Bart, the Tremont area was just past peak, so still good color. Other parts of the park were already bare having just started to show good color a week...
Thanks Jon! #1 is a favorite for sure!
Thanks Jordan! That is a new way to describe it!
Thanks Ben...I am glad I don't have to pick a favorite...they are all like children...can't really pick a favorite. I like them all for different reasons.
Thanks Alan. #3 was one I had to work harder to...
Thank you.
It is a fun race to be there for...I have driven Road Atlanta many times...it is a very different experience for sure.
Thanks Kyle. Probably one of my favorite shots of the race.
Thanks, I love shooting that spot.
About a week ago I was in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park chasing fall color. The previous weekend I was supposed to go, but had to change my plans, and then that week we saw really cold weather, rain and high winds. Peak color got wiped out for the most part. But there was still some...
Thanks Alan. I do more slow pans than I should, but it is the look I like the most. I did work on some other styles too...but have not gotten to editing them yet.
2006 was the last year for Portland...I remember watching one race there.
This past weekend was the 22nd Annual Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta. One of the highlights of my year...I think I have been 10 or 11 times now and will keep going as long as they continue to have it. Just a few images processed so far...I will add to it as I go.
#1: Morning Roll Out
I wanted...
It was just another typical busy day! I did go to Petit LeMans this weekend...so that is always my birthday present to myself!
Too busy, thanks Jim. It seems that every single day has multiple calendar entries of stuff going on...
Very nice image, really like the cool to cold tones of this.
As an aside, I met a guy a couple weeks ago that has done several of your workshops, Paul Hayward. He had nothing but good things to say.
I will have a look at some of this on the one image I have to edit that has good flowers. Yeah, I was about 10 days late...but the trip was not planned around flowers, it was planned around a classroom workshop I was doing...going to MRNP was just a bonus.
Very interesting scene, I like the foreboading sky...makes me feel like its time to hike back!
Question for you about shooting wildflowers like this...in MRNP the few fields I found that had any left...I get the sense that my images don't do them any justice, they get so lost in the scene...
Thanks Jameel. That little bit of fog on the water was a nice and welcome surprise. I spent a lot of time shooting it too...and it shows up really nicely in the timelapse I did.
Study and work with minimalism for a while and you can really learn to appreciate clear skies.
Yeah, the color was...
Thanks Alan. Yes it is an iconic scene...and I was happy to have been able to add it to my portfolio. I ventured over to the smaller lake later in the day, but didn't like the view as much and it seemed impossible to get down to the shore. The bigger one further down didn't seem to have a...
Thank you very much Ben. My take on the reflection comes from having seen so many that have a nice still lake or body of water and the reflection is just overpowering...purely a personal preference. I also wanted Rainier to be the star of the show up in the sky...so a clear sky worked for that...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
