2019 Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta

This past weekend was the 22nd Annual Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta. One of the highlights of my year...I think I have been 10 or 11 times now and will keep going as long as they continue to have it. Just a few images processed so far...I will add to it as I go.

#1: Morning Roll Out
I wanted to catch a car in the paddock with the early morning sun and haze...lucky that it was also my favorite car.

#2: Sibling Rivalry
Sister Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in vintage Coca-Cola livery...best sounding cars on track. And the ones that had my camera pointed at them the most...one nice thing about being a spectator...you can shoot what you want.

#3: Corvette Sunset
The Corvette C7.R in its final race of its campaign...the new C8.R debuts in January. Sunset on Saturday night was a stunner.

Neat set of captures - I like the sunrise shot and you did some nice panning work on shots #2 and #3.

I loved watching and shooting the ALMS races in Portland when they still came to PIR but they cut Portland out of the series about a dozen years ago.

Thanks Alan. I do more slow pans than I should, but it is the look I like the most. I did work on some other styles too...but have not gotten to editing them yet.

2006 was the last year for Portland...I remember watching one race there.

These are really awesome Travis. I love the light in #1, and I like the motion in #2, and #3 is a fantastic show of color.

I can imagine just how much fun this would be to go and shoot. I have never shot a race but I think I would like to some day, hearing the roar of the engines and watching the cars slinging around the track would just be so cool to experience.

It is a fun race to be there for...I have driven Road Atlanta many times...it is a very different experience for sure.
