I will be traveling on Saturday, so I thought I should get his going before I leave. This a very old image of Yosemite on Ektachrome 64. It is very bluish and underexposed. I brightened it up, increased the saturation in the sky to bring out the pinks, reduced noise in the sky, and sharpened...

    Spirit Island

Mary Schaefer was the first European to see Maligne Lake. She stated that if Lake Louise was to be called a pearl of the Rocky Mountains, then the beautiful mountains surrounding Maligne Lake should be called a "string of pearls." She also referred to the most spectacular mountains found at...

I am not sure why I didn't post this on my website at the time I made it, but it just sat there unobserved for all these years. I only discovered...

Emerald Lake and Burgess Mountain, Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada

This lake is a real beauty. It was found and named by British guide Tom Wilson not the American cartoonist of Ziggy fame. He called it Emerald Lake because the water is greener than the other famous lakes in the Canadian Rockies. He had previously named another lake with this moniker but...

    Moraine Lake

This was taken from the shoreline. I wanted to try and show that the rockpile isn't the only place to take an image there. There were hundreds of people swarming the rockpile. I didn't want any part of that dumpster fire. Even here I had to clone six people out of the image.
