I captured the Milky Way 2 nights in a row at the Firehole River in Yellowstone National Park a few weeks ago. I had meant to only capture it there 1 night, but ended up with 2 nights. My first night it rained during the night, thankfully even though it was clear after sunset on that first night...
This is from a week ago up in Yellowstone National Park. It's a nice mostly quiet spot along the Firehole River. It had been crazy weather, ferocious winds and rain, peaceful rainbows, and at the beginning of the night, a sweet moon set.
The Milky Way will show up, it's currently covered by the...
My favorite little barn, it's located in Northern Colorado about 5 minutes from my daughters house in a little nature area. It was late when I shot this. The sun had set, but the clouds looked so awesome. So I tried to keep the darker feel to it. This is from about two weeks ago.

I captured this a week ago up in the Rocky Mountain National Park. I was up there for the night with my 8 year old grandson Caleb. He wanted to see the Milky Way.
The timing of this image is really a week earlier than I prefer, as the moon rises into the Milky Way and it does it really early...
I went up to Mt Evans/ Mt Blue Sky a few days ago. I timed it to get up there after the majority of the typical mountain Thunderstorms were done. Being at 14,000 feet with Lightning Bolts is not a real fun experience. :)
The clouds had cleared, but as I drove up the 14 mile road to get to the...
This is from a week ago in Northern Colorado. And while almost all of the strikes went vertically and struck the ground, there were a couple of lightning bolts that got lost, or disoriented and went sideways instead. :)

This is from a week ago up in Northern Colorado just outside Greeley, Colorado. It's about 5 minutes from my daughters house, and when I saw the potential for lightning, I headed to the closest farmers field area near my daughters house. Sometimes these storms have lot's of lightning, but only...
Well, a week ago there was a really awesome Thunderstorm. One never knows just how strong and how much lightning there will be ahead of time, you just have to be ready. I wasn't totally ready, but pretty close as I watched the ominous clouds rolling in from the West. So it only took me 2 minutes...
I was up in Rocky Mountain National Park last week with my Grandson Caleb who is 8. The goal was to do some livestreaming for my YouTube channel and to capture the Milky Way. We drove up the Old Fall River Road towards the Alpine Visitor center. Besides being able to stop at some cool waterfalls...
A Rocky Mountain IR that is. This is from Rocky Mountain National Park the other day. As I was heading back down the next morning after the Milky Way from Trail Ridge Road, I saw this tree on my left as I was going down and also saw there was a pullout there. So after making a U-Turn, I went...
I am really running behind here, busy with the grandkids.
I took my 8 year old grandson with me up into Rocky Mountain National Park a few days ago. I rearranged the back of my 4Runner to add a 2nd sleeping area for him. As we were going up there to explore and also stay the night capturing the...
I am currently up in Rocky Mountain NP with my 8 year old grandson. We did some videos, took some photos. We got a great sunset, and then after sunset as we were driving to the Alpine visitor center, we spotted these along the side of the road. We slowed down and despite it getting darker, we...
It was a grand time to be capturing the Milky Way at Grand View in Canyonlands National Park.
This was 3 weeks ago, and the airglow was going crazy everywhere. A lot of the new Nightscape Photographers didn't know what to make of it. I long ago learned to embrace it and just love it. It's so...
This is from Monday night. Driving back to Colorado from California, this is somewhere in Utah above Cedar City.
I had 2 of my grandkids with me and we agreed we needed to stop for a minute.

Please enjoy hopefully this 4th of July display from Disneyland.
If you haven't subscribed to my YouTube channel yet, please do that as well.
Thanks,
Jim
It's nice if you like the aerochrome look! Like I had mentioned, I am going to go with the aerochrome look for a while. And this one is from 2 weeks ago in Bryce Canyon National Park.

Well, this isn't the 4th of July, but it's close. :)
I was at Disneyland, I love to livestream their nightly fireworks show, Wondrous Journey. But on this night, I was holding the gimbal in one hand for the livestream and then holding my iPhone 17 Pro in the other hand to grab some images of...
A little play on the words as this is the Milky Way from the Grand View Point in Canyonlands. I had to drive back to Colorado as I was in California to pick up the Grandkids to bring them to California for a week of vacation at Disneyland, etc. I knew I wanted to stop for one night to capture...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
