Thanks Lenny. I thought it was a wildlife preserve. I went up to Klamath Basin for raptors a few years ago.
I haven't rented from Sammy's but I was aware of the weekend deal. When I went to Klamath I rented a Tammron 150-600 for a week from Borrow Lenses. That lens was pretty new at the time...
Thanks Carlo. I'm not sure why they showed up that size. I thought the forum resizes them. I probably should have linked to them from my smugmug site rather than upload from my computer. That's what happens when you take the lazy way out late at night. ;-)
I like this a lot Jim.
I know I'm in the minority with what I'm about to say but.....I much prefer night shots with starry skies than ones with the Milky Way.
I'll just show myself out now....
Thanks Ben and Alan.
Normally I'm not a big fan of sepia. I first processed the color photo in Lightroom. I then went to ON1 and tried a lot of presets and filters. I went through all the B&W ones and didn't find anything that really grabbed me. When I tried a sepia filter I felt like the image...
Thanks Jim. I was out at that location a couple of years ago during wildflower season. It was kind of disappointing. Hoping to find some good wildflowers anywhere this spring.
There are many apps that let you capture the RAW data (at least speaking for iPhone). RAW has always been in the camera but it wasn't until ios 10 or 11 that Apple let developers actually access it.
This is the one I use... https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/procamera/id694647259?mt=8

Well, this isn't an iPhone jpg, it was a fully processed (by me) RAW file taken with the phone. It's just amazing how good the quality of photo you can get nowadays with the phone cameras now that you can extract the RAW files. They have their limitations, but they absolutely are capable of some...
Yeah, that thought crossed my mind too. ;-)
I can add it to my Christmas Card collection... :-)

Thanks guys. Would you believe me if I told you it was an iPhone special? Although I used a different camera app that captures RAW files which I then processed like normal.
I also shot this with my Nikon D7100. I processed the Nikon first and loved it. Then I processed this one and loved it...
The weather finally cooperated and I made it to the park this past Wednesday and Thursday. I never get tired of photographing the Chapel and this time was no exception.
Well, the forecast is holding steady so I'm getting ready one more time. The car is already half packed from last week's failed attempts.
Horsetail was becoming a huge people and car problem which is why last year the park instituted permit parking only. This year they have cancelled permit...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
