The recent rains have been a boon to the wildflowers here. I found some local trails I hadn't been on before with some little gems.

The orchids like shady areas, so I always hope for some penetrating light that doesn't wash it out. The avens were almost all in full sun, so it took a while to find some in shade but catching reflected light.

Thanks, John. Repairs always cost more than expected (or wished) & I've read that it's easy to install that trim incorrectly so it just blows off again. I figure that it'll be worth it to have a pro do it.

I shot back up to the Tetons for another attempt at the Arrowroot Balsomroot at sunrise. On the way, on I-80 (I think), there as a loud "bang" and I thought that maybe a bird & my windshield had collided, though I had no recollection of seeing something coming towards me. No warning lights on...

Those are nice flowering grasses. Worth searching for. I had them in my previous mountain home. This one has a lot of potentilla, yarrow & mullein.

I had searched the forums years ago to see if I could silence the alarm, but couldn't find a solution. Who was the genius who thought that it was necessary, anyway? It's right up there with the alarm that tells me it's 37 degrees out & roads might be icy -- truly an annoying & dangerous alarm...
