I also prefer #2. You could even crop a little more off the bottom. I agree with Michael that being closer to the lupines would have made them a stronger foreground. Failing that, a longer lens for a vertical pano may have done the job.

Very nice shot, Alan! You might consider editing out the leaves on the bottom or blurring them more as the rest of the background is a homogenous grey that otherwise lets the eye rest solely on the pollinator & bloom.

Nice captures of the lupines. They are Alaskan lupines and are considered an invasive species in Iceland. They were brought in to control erosion in, I think, the 1940s. I'm envious that you got to spend that much time there 😉
