Never having successfully captured the milky way, I am not one to criticize. I like this very much. A niggle is that it feels a bit off kilter in that the tiles are not quite centered on the arch of the milky way. I would also like a bit more breathing room around the arch itself. Not sure...

Thanks all very much. Yes, the lens in question is a very fine optic—no discernible CA and sharp as a tack from wide open. These were all focus stacks ranging from F2.5-F5.6 and 8 to maybe 20 images stacked. Depth of field is really tiny at macro distances as you approach 1:1 magnification...

Interesting. There are ferns and evergreens around these parts too, but these woods are at around 4500 feet and it is winter. Similar to the Pacific Northwest, this area is a rainforest (over 80” of rain a year). I have never spent time in the Pacific NW, but I bet there is a similar feel...

Have had a huge amount of rain around here, so I checked out one of my favorite falls. The water was higher than I have ever seen and the surface of the plunge pool was choppy so long exposures were better, i thought. Only problem was a huge amount of spray! I did a lot of wiping and praying...
