    Northern Lights Stills

Taken 9/5/25 in Yellowknive NWT Canada So magical, the sky was ablaze. Equipment used was a Canon T7 with the Sigma 17-50 2.8f at 6 sec's each. I shot for 2 nights (however) on the 1st night I made a typical rooky mistake. I was SO excited to see these things I forgot to keep an eye on the dew...

NGC7293 (so hard to capture) even though it was staring right at me lol

And was even harder for me to process Inbetween learning to process the northern lights, I managed to finish NGC7293. Its SO low on the horizon it took me a couple years for find a clearning on my property and then I could only get 3 to 4 hours a night. This image was right at 6 hours and it...

1st Timelapes of the Northern Lights

Problem with being the 1st, I made "lots" of mistakes, and given the trip to Yellowknife Canada may never happen again, I may not have any chances of do-overs so I have to live with what I ended up with My other problem was (aside from not knowing what I was doing) was the arora was so big and...

    Northen Lights (What a show!)

Sooo, I just got back from seeing the northern lights in the NW Territory of Canada in the town of Yellowknife. 1st time capuring the northern light, let along being "right under" the corona. I used the Canon T7 with the Sigma 17-50 2.8 @ 6 sec's and ISO of 1600 but I kept it at 17mm because...

    canon t7 upgrade?

So I am looking at upgrading from my Canon t7 to a used MPB t8i or 90D? My lenses are the Sigma 24mm 1.4 Art, Sigma 17 – 50 zoom, and the Canon kit 300 zoom and decent manfrotto tripod. I don’t plan on adding to this kit (Ha-Ha, famous last words) anyway I am not, nor want to be a...

    M20 Finally (Take 2)

Didn't like the originals so I reprocessed to what most images looked like on Astrobin. Got it as close as its going to get. So this target is "really" low on the horizon for me, and also my neighbors tree is right in the main path of where I usually set up so I always wrote it off as a...

    NGC6188 The Dragons of Ara

Nicely done, where are you located to be able to capture this?

    IC5068, called the Forsaken Nebula

My primary target was M20, I blew off some time taking this target which came out as a pretty nebula image considering it only has 2 1/2 hours of data .

1st image taken since March M16

I think I over saturated the blues in the original, I think this one is better. Thoughts?
  20. Comet Hunter

1st image taken since March M16

M16 never gets old. I added 10 hours from this week to the original 5 hours taken in 2023 (been that long?) totaling 15 hours. 180 5 min subs, Optolong Extreme filter, asi2600mc, and my trusty Stellarvue 102 SVX raptor Do you prefer the full frame or cropped version?
