With Fall just around the corner, there have already been reports I have seen from people that Fall Colors are coming early this year due supposedly to the dry weather many parts of the country has seen.

As you hear or see anything related to the fall colors, please add them to this thread. I am already mentally preparing to hit the road early this year.

I'm booked at June Lake for Oct 7-11. If anybody plans to visit the Eastern Sierra then, maybe we can meetup.

The oaks on the mountainside east of my house in American Fork Utah are turning red. This is about 2 weeks early.

I am removing the original Screen Shot. It appears to me anyway that it's just the case of a local News Caster trying to make some news. Everything at Kenosha Pass is progressing at it's normal rate, and it's not at Peak like the News Caster appears to be saying.

Just came through Hope Valley today. I saw early signs of turning, but for the most part still looks like summer. All the same through Carson Pass as well (Caples Lake, Silver Lake, etc)

Alisa sent me this the other day.

So things are moving along rather rapidly in Colorado. I am not sure yet if this is just isolated to that one pass or what, but man it's early.
That's interesting as when I drove Kenosha Pass 3 days ago, I'd say that <1% was changed.

So I wonder if this guy Alisa linked was trying to troll people?
Kenosha has had a lot of SAD, so it's hard to find good intimate shots. The grand panoramics are good unless you really look at the color & see that there's actually quite a bit of brown there. There were a few little pockets that had changed, but that's about it.

It seems every year at this time someone tries to break the news and be the first to say Fall is here. I'm sure the Fall colors will be turning up in the usual places at the usual times. Maybe. :)

Yep, for sure. I am going to delete that photo out of my post, because clearly it was intended to show something that wasn't really true yet.

Here's a link to a webcam for Jackson Hole/Tetons, etc. Lots of different views (more than most). I also usually check the ones for Aspen (easier than driving there....), Crested Butte -- anywhere there's a resort close by.

Thanks for the link Monika.

It's funny that webcam is on my list of favorites, I definitely use it to check conditions throughout the year there. And you are right, it's easier then driving there.

Front Range: Peak to Peak Hwy Boulder Canyon to Brainard Lake 8/30
A few pockets with scattered branches turning, also pockets along Peak to Peak with aspen with leaves already brown & many leaves dropped (SAD? and not in the Trump usage). This is probably one of the best displays (also some spotted from the Brainard Lake Rd with nowhere to turn out). Looks to be on schedule.

Also 4 moose spotted (3 along the road, 1 along the trail to Blue Lake).
