Colorado's starting to come along. Arnica up to 10,400' (trail was blocked by snow at 10,700). And I'm darned if I can remember the name of these others. Alan? Doug? Runoff is high. Things should be melting out quickly in the coming weeks. This was in Summit County on the Meadow Creek Trail.

Anyone have any reports on the snow pack in the Rainier area...I am heading there in about 6 weeks, I have a couple days off bookending a workshop I am participating in...was gonna ahead down to Rainier on one of those days, whichever is best.

Here are a few from the past couple weeks. The first 2 are around Teluride the others are around Crested Butte around town. Still a lot of snow higher up.

I have seen from a couple of photogs I know that the Rainier area is perfect right about now...I hope it doesn't get too warm and I get to see some of it in a couple weeks.

Glacier NP in the Many Glacier area along Lake (reservoir) Sherburne. Many varieties across the road. Late July. From what I've read, the park will start getting fall color in only four weeks.

Alpine Loop in SW Colorado

Everything seems to be in full bloom. American Basin was filled with wildflowers at peak bloom.

Is at peak right now. The trail is still a bit wet but not bad. Get there now!

Yankee Boy Basin - Colorado

Wildflowers are blooming like crazy! It’s odd seeing all of these blooms so late in the season, but because of the heavy snow, all of the wildflowers in SW Colorado are still in peak bloom.

An iPhone shot from yesterday.

As of Monday 8/26/19...you can consider the flowers on Mt. Rainier done...there were just a couple of patches of lupines left and they were drying up...there were a few scattered around but they are certainly on the downside of the bloom and it was getting pretty warm as I left.
