Man with all the snow this year in CO, I cannot wait for wildflowers. They wilted quickly last summer.
I heard from a Crested Butte resident that snowpack is >150% of normal, so he's guessing wildflowers will be late but spectacular.

Joshua Tree National Park, California

The Northern (upper) desert area. I entered in the 29 Palms entrance.

It is in full super bloom mode.

A couple iPhone shots

I'm trying to remember how my camera works in front of my Zion NP trip next week. :)
Hey Rick, please check out the conditions in Zion before you go, there are some road closures and the Narrows is closed. Alisa was looking at going there later this week and found that out.

Yeah Hwy 9, one of my favorite areas in the park, is closed. This is a honey-do trip anyway. This is Lisa's favorite park and she hasn't been there in a while and I've been all over the place without her so it's her turn.:rolleyes:o_O

Any reports on Dogwoods in Yosemite? I do see a FB posting
They’re beautiful right now. Can’t post. Limited internet. Been told they started about 2 weeks ago. They are looking a little fresher than last year at this time.

I’ll post something after I get home. Returning Friday.

From what I have seen, if you want Dogwoods you better go ASAP. The leaves were pretty big already in the photos I have seen from last week, so I can't imagine it being too many more days before the flowers get dirty and the leaves become bigger then the flowers.

Jim, etc. Just got back from Yosemite.
Dogwoods were OK. Some showing wear & tear. But some in very good condition.
Plenty of trees along the Hwy 140 entrance road. There's one tree that got massive blooms from base to top.
In the valley good examples at Ahwahnee hotel area (yea, I know, "The Majestic").
So it would worthwhile to go NOW. The weather yesterday was very good & nice clouds
This morning the weather was good, with increasing clouds. Started raining heavy by 2pm
Logs of images, digital & film TB posted.

I just got home myself a few minutes ago. Left today instead of tomorrow morning due to the incoming rain. Spent an hour and a half at Tunnel View because clouds were so good and getting better. I left at 2:00 and it started raining on the way out.

Having gone the last 3 years at the exact same week I feel like the dogwood blooms were better this year than the past years. Of course it all depends on the specific tress themselves but I saw many more good looking blooms this year.
