Thursday's Task: Spring images you would like to share. My absence here in FocalWorld was due to a second left hip replacement surgery. This surgery and recovery has been more lengthy but I am excited to resume Thursday's Task once again. Thank you for your patience.

Alan, I must admit that I’ve never taken my camera to a grocery store—but I’m glad you did! You have a colorful and beautiful backyard. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks John - the geranium is an iPhone 15 Pro image: the camera that's always in my pocket. I'm not enough of a fanatic to haul serious camera gear with me to buy groceries either :)

It is so good to have you back, John. I am glad that your surgery went well. We missed you.

Before I started doing photography fall was my favorite time of the year. Then I discovered that wildflowers made such great subjects.

Doug, you’ve shared five beautiful spring images—thank you! I favor the Wisconsin trillium, the Anza Borrego images, and the Virginia bluebells—love its mood and composition (my favorite). The California poppies and bluebells image also has an interesting composition—and color! And thank you for your kind thoughts as well.

I'll say that spring definitely hasn't been my strength. I've never made it to any of the big blooms and my spring photography in the past has tended more toward waterfalls than flowers. That said, here are some flowers...

1) Mustard, oaks and deer in Martinez, California

2) Flowers at Hite Cove near Merced

Great to have you back John. Hope your surgery went well and wishing for a quick and complete recovery.

Nothing says spring here in the NW more than tulips and cherry blossoms.

Jameel thank you for the well wishes. I love the composition of your last image with the fallen cherry blossoms scattered about the grass and sidewalk—very nice! I also love the red/yellow strata in your first composition. Of course the variety of colors in your second image of tulips is well-framed—the out-of-focus tulips creating a beautiful background for the focused tulip. Well done.

Kyle, beautiful images all—the first image of oaks, mustard and deer (at first glance I thought they were exceptionally large rabbits (😊) has a special minimalist feel—nice. Your second flower image of complementary blue and orange colors is well captured. Interesting composition in your last landscape—love the road winding from the minimal foreground into the middle trees and beyond to the distant hills.

Welcome back, John! Good to read that your surgery went well.

Michael, absolutely love your first image—love the layers! Very nice image! Your second image of “desert gold” creates a memorable image and almost my favorite. Thank you for your kind thoughts as well.

@John Holbrook Anything beyond the general name is well beyond me. I do have a friend who is an avid hunter who I will see tomorrow. I'll ask if he tell me a species
