Thoughts on camera replacement.

Jim, as far as I know, the heat thing is all about video and only long 8K videos at that. I think the fixes will be software fixes to manage or slow down data. But in any event, I suspect that the heat management they already have will make this a great long exposure camera.

I would check to make sure that it can make 30 second to 5 minute exposures without heat issues.

Thanks Jim, we will see, I placed an order but they are out of stock so I am not sure when I will get one. Hopefully before the fall photo season.

Thanks Monica. I have been reading all the tests I can find and had not seen this one. I think I will like the 5R even if it's a pixel downgrade from where I am now and even if it has an AA filter.

I have seen no indication that the heat issue in video will have a bad effect on my long exposures. The only time I ever did an exposure longer than 30 seconds was with Jim. I have since learned how to do this, but doubt if I will do many.
