The Dogwood, some coffee and a camera

Once again, it's time for my dogwood trees to bloom. I make the early journey out the side door with a cup of coffee and camera in tow. I have been photographing this particular tree for about 13 years, and every year, I wonder what I will do to capture something different. Over the last several years, I have been experimenting with various forms of selective focus and levels of over-exposure to create isolation. Attempting to paint images with the camera, so to speak, this year, I also added in-camera double exposure, which I also find interesting for this type of work...here are a few of the images I have worked on so far. Definitely different ways of looking at your dogwood and the other parts of your garden. The first one is my favorite of the set.

Awesome creativity Dean! I sure wish I had a Dogwood at my house, such a cool tree!

My favorites are #1, 2 and 5 with #3 given an honorable mention.

I really like how you tried all of these ways to work the Dogwood, I think it's a great lesson to others on how to think outside the box a bit.

Enjoyed these, #3 is my favorite. I rarely know exactly why I enjoy any photograph or piece of art, so usually just "like" an artists work. Nicely done!
