Rocky Sunset - Video Version

This was captured with the DJI Mini 2 Drone in Green River, Wyoming. On the north side of the town they have the coolest rock structures. This video is only of a small fraction of them. I had wanted to video more but the sunset wouldn't wait, so I ran out of light. And well, I ran out of blood in my fingers too as it was below freezing out there.

This one progresses through the phases of a sunset.

I like the light in the later portion of the video when the direct sunlight is off of the formations. The good light for the formations is just before your selfie.

How are you navigating your drone when you are showing the video moving back from the spires?

Thanks Alan! The sunset colors are the best, but if that’s all I showed, it would make for a short video, plus I think it’s great to see the progression of light.

Ha… I figured you would catch that quick selfie.

There are 2 sections I think in there where the drone is moving back away from the formations. 1 of them is a video of it flying towards to structure and I reversed the video, and the other is the drone flying backwards.

You have some great video there, but I got bored with those little formations. I would edit down to less than half of this, or mix it with some other material. The first shots backing up over the rocks are especially exciting - were you really flying backwards or did you use the safe PP technique to reverse the video? Your proximity flying is getting really good!

Thanks Jim! I wish I had gotten there earlier amd also that it wasn’t so cold as the combination made it so I was a bit in a hurry.

I had to go back and look at the video to double check on the reverse parts as I had shortened and removed several of the clips from how I first assembled it. The first backwards section is reversed In Movavi, then in the middle there is a clip going forward, that is actually a reversed section that i had flown backwards, but I liked it looking forward better, the last reverse section I also had flown in reverse and left it alone.
