Perry Creek Falls

Jim Fox was asking how stable a DJI Mavic 2 Pro is for long exposures. It seems to be a virtual tripod, the 4 propellers work independently to maintain a position, so you can just work the gimble like I did in this pano, each RAW shot was 1/10th of a sec.

If you do a full downward rotation of the gimbal you end up looking straight down, which results in a crazy distorted view here of the bottom portion of the falls. This was my trickiest flight so far, I was up behind the trees at the top and had to fly very carefully down through the limbs to get into this more open space out from the falls. This view is impossible to get any other way!

That's a pretty convincing shot for what you can do with a drone like this. Did you try out other drops prior to working with this one? Are they all this stable or is this stability unique to the you are using now?

How amazing Jim! I guess it makes sense that you could go as low as 1/10th of a sec shutter speed, but that wasn’t my first thought.

That’s a nice perspective and I cool looking shot.
