I do like this better. You had trouble the first time with part of the mountain too light compared to the sky, I ran into that problem myself.

Hey Jim, I always think cool is darker and warm is brighter. I look more at the red/yellows than I do the mountains. Anyway, thats why I thought your was warmer.

Interesting. I only use the words "cool" and "warm" in terms of color balance. To be cooler you add more blue to be warmer you add more orange. I haven't heard about cool and warm being used in relation to brightness or darkness, so thanks for explaining that. I did brighten up the ground layer because I did like it brighter.

Hey, Jim, I only know that if I move the wb slider to warmer, the image gets brighter, if I slide it to cooler, it loses brightness. I could not explain why.

Interesting, I had never noticed that. If it was based off the colors, I would think that a cooler image would feel brighter compared to a warmer image. I will have to look at that the next time I edit, but maybe someone else has experienced that too? I haven't, but maybe others have.

I have seen a slight brightening of the image if the temp is moved towards yellow but like Jim I use temp and tint entirely for changing the color balance. I have tons of tools that are more effective for changing the light either globally or selectively and prefer the more precise controls once I have the color balance where I want it. Often getting the light tweaked requires a bit of fine tuning to the color balance again.

Thanks for adding that Alan. I hadn’t noticed any brightening at all when warming up an image, so you guys have me curious and I will check that out next time.

Ben, if I may suggest, use the terms Warm and Cool only in regards to the White Balance/Color Balance of a scene to cut down on potential confusion.
