A Different Edge

In a play off of Craig's Edge series of real edges in Utah Landscapes, I have one from Arches where the sun and moon were heading in unison to the edge of the horizon.

Curious looking skies - the sun has already set and was dark enough for the moon to cast shadows and the stars to be visible? Interesting POV.

Nice Jim, did you use the thumb trick on the moon here? The exposures of the moon, sky and terrain are perfect.

Hey Alan, thanks so much!

Actually this was shot not too long before the sun was to rise, hence my moon and sun meeting at the horizon.

I had to go back and look at the original to double check, I actually think Craig was out with me shooting this particular morning as we also shot the Turret Arch through the North Window as the sun was rising.

Very good, Jim. The picture has an ethereal quality due to this lighting on the scattered rocks and the stars.
