Hi, its been a bit. Have been on vacation the past week in SW CO. Had lots of fun 4x4, hiking. Photographing my favorite parts of Colorado. Here is a shoot from American Basin, Lake City.
CC welcome.
I was hiking this morning (early) in Indian Peak wilderness with the plan to shoot wildflowers, cascades and the peak glow together, but it was too windy to shoot wildflowers and waterfalls together. I left there immediately and on the way back shot this no-name cascade as my consolation for the...
My wife and I enjoyed a number of nice sunsets from our condo on Maui last month. This one just got better after the sun went down.

It's taking a while to sort through all the chaff to get to the gems from my week of snorkeling. Here are a few more I just finished. Thanks to the comments on the last set I looked for those that separated the turtle from the background to find these.

I've now been home long enough to process some RAW images on my computer (not iPad like the last ones). Color balance is tricky - I've been trying extra yellow and magenta to off set the blue and green underwater.

I was lucky to teach at Mountain Way Elementary School in Granite Falls WA for 22 years. My principals were very cooperative in letting me leave early to do my wellness activity - as the P.E. teacher for 18 of those years my mantra to my students was, "Go outside and play!" so I had to set the...
One of my favorite easy access beaches in Olympic National Park, just far enough of a walk to not normally be over crowded. These 3 girls were the last people I saw that day, glad they walked through. I quite enjoyed being the last one though and made my way back to the car by headlamp.
Alameda Creek in the Sunol Regional Wilderness in Northern California. I got really close to a small rapid with a 17mm lens hoping to pick up a lot of details in the water.
From a few years ago where I learned that summers in Glacier can still look like winters in other places. 80% of this hanging valley was still in snow at the beginning of July.
All comments are welcome,

My first post on this site. WA coast Olympic National Park. Ruby is one of my favorite easy access beaches. Love the cloudy days for B&W. Sony A7rII.
I let the shadows go to black for a monolithic feel to the rocks.
