We've finally gotten some rain and the northern California hills are green. I'll be doing plenty of local hiking for the next few weeks looking for scenes like this one, that I captured near the calaveras reservoir a couple of years ago.

This was my favorite local shot from the year, taken in one of my regular hiking spots near home. I go there a lot, but this was the first time I was there for sunset (somewhat of a challenge with the hours the park is open). Sunset was in the other direction (and it wasn't bad), but I couldn't...

Up close and personal with Panther Creek Falls

On one of very few trips lately up into the Arkansas Ozarks, I found this section of Haw Creek, being down in a valley, shrouded in fog. And I love foggy conditions! Two views, looking upstream, showing more of the foggy effects, and beside the little cascade with a nice tree framing the view...
