Last year at this time I was supposed to take a photo workshop in the Pacific Northwest. I had to back out due to my mom's illness. But I am currently in the same workshop just a year later. This morning was our first outing. While I captured many images, I really like this one taken near...
In March, my wife and I had our 3 week ski vacation cut short due to temps in the 60s for several days in a row. So we took a slightly longer route home and passed through the Badlands which my wife had never seen. Late morning overcast light but enough to catch the yellows of the mounds area...
While visiting Mon in Connecticut, I got a tip to visit Kent Falls State Park so I left at the crack of dawn to search this place. Kent, CT is a quaint New Englad town but 5 miles to the north is the park with this waterfall that went on forever. Of course, traveling to see mom meant I left my...
Flaming Star and Tadpole Nebulas
120 minutes @ 20s each. EQ mode. Bortle 4 Processed in Pixinsight and LR.
My first time using EQ mode and it seemed to go smoothly. Also, because I changed the framing, this ended up a mosaic.
I plan to add more data to see if the Seestar can resolve more...
I added more data last night. This image is now 100 minutes total integration time. Still Alt/Az as I cannot see Polaris from my vantage point. The resulting image is much improved over my previous post with more nebulosity. I like it.
My little travel scope continues to amaze. This image is 30 minutes of 10s exposures in Alt/Az mode while in Keystone, CO. I plan to add more data to this set as I can.
Seestar S30 Pro star trail mode. 6hrs of data. I used AI to remove light trails from planes and satellites. While it was calm, some breeze must have kicked up during the 6hr acquisition to blur the trees. Finally, I cropped the image to a 3:2. Next time, I'll find a more static foreground...
Another go at the Orion Nebula. Alt/Az, 10 minutes total data at 10s exposures with the Seestar S30 Pro. Stacked and processed in Pixinsight and Lightroom. Amazing little scope.
After owning this scope for a week, I had a brief window to capture a DSO. From a perfectionist standpoint, there's a lot to improve on this image. However, capture was done in Alt/Az mode with a paltry 9 minutes total integration at 10 seconds each. I took the Seestar integrated fits file...
We had big rains today in the Santa Barbara area but they gave way to fair skies this afternoon. I took a walk on the beach and noticed all the little 'riverlets' in the sand from the down pours. Here's my example.
The weather is changing here in Summerland, CA. Clouds are moving in and rain is expected by this evening. I woke up before the sun and looked out the window to see gray but broken clouds. I decided to get up and walk down to the beach in the hopes that the sun might find a clearing in the...
Lovely morning from Summerland, CA. This is the path to get to the beach. I love how the yellow flowers line the left side of the path with a blanket of flowers.
Taking a break from Minnesota winter with a visit to Summerland, CA. We were out here three years ago and love the area with Santa Barbara nearby. This image was taken handheld at 0.6s with the Hasselblad X2D II. This camera has such great image stabilization that I have handheld some shots...
Visiting family in suburban Connecticut, I've often driven by this scene but there's no place to pull over to photograph it. This morning there was a couple of inches of snow on a Saturday morning so the roads were empty. I simply stopped in the middle of the road to finally capture the red...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
