    NorCal ?

Thanks Kyle. If I go up that way I was thinking of getting a room around Santa Rosa and starting the morning from there.

    NorCal ?

Thanks Alan. Yeah, I figured 1 would be slower. I guess it would depend on if the scenery is worth the extra drive time. I'm not keen on twisty roads if they last a while. That certainly keeps you from enjoying any views.

    NorCal ?

Thanks Jim. Most of the workshops I saw online tended to go from mid to late May. Definitely the Rhododendron bloom and the fog are the main attractions that time of year. But as with anything seasonal, weather and mother nature can change things. I've been wanting to visit the area for a while...

    Bolsa Chica Birds

Very nice Jim. I haven't been there is while. Have they started requiring a permit to access the property, like they threatened last year?

    NorCal ?

I just signed up for a photo workshop in the CA Redwoods that starts on Monday May 20 in Crescent City. I plan to drive from SoCal leaving early on Sat the 18th. I will drive direct to Jamestown to visit the railroad museum, expecting to arrive near noon. I've not been there before so I don't...

    Merry Christmas!

Thanks Jim. I was surprised the amount of color there on a cold Feb morning after a big storm, especially those brown leaves.

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Thanks Alan. :-) It was my goal to help the chapel stand out a little better against the background. I reviewed many photos on google to try and keep it realistic while still adding a little pop. I think this does it, but it's always good to hear other's thoughts. :-)

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Thanks Ben. I thought so too after reviewing a lot of other photos online. But it's always a debatable subject.

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Thanks Jim. I'd love no footprints. But that's a tough order. As empty as the park was that day, I obviously wasn't the first one there. But I'm more than willing to try again this winter. :-)

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Thanks Ben. I did give the chapel a fresh coat of paint in post. I always debate how much is enough/toomuch. :-)

It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

As winter approaches, I have been reviewing my snow pics from Yosemite. This is from a trip in Feb 2016. The chapel is the oldest structure in the valley. For whatever reason, I never get tired of trying to shoot the chapel on every trip. I'm hoping to make a possible banzai run this winter as a...

    Half Dome and Leaves

Kyle, you did a good job of taking what was given. I certainly know the feeling when the weather doesn't cooperate with you. My trip to the valley last May ended up with hotter than average temps and minimal to no clouds for the whole 5 days. But I had to book it 5 months ahead of time to get...

    Best Weather Apps?

I couldn't figure out the most appropriate forum for this question but I thought this category had the most folks who would care. If it belongs elsewhere, please move. Thanks. I've got a few. Some free, some paid. Some too simple some too complex. I fully understand how fickle the weather can...
