    Dawn on Morro Rock

I found another old image to re-work. This from Oct '12, from the grassy dunes at Morro Strand State Park. Dawn just starting to break on Morro Rock.

    Cathedral Rocks

Another dumpster dive found this frame to re-work. From May '09. Alas a clear sky but striking scene nonetheless I thought.

    Hardy

Was perusing some old files this afternoon and ran across this portion of a larger image. Something about that colorful little guy among the boulders in the river just caught my eye. Small scene in the early morning on the Kern River, Dec '15.

    The Recipe #24 - Frozen

After a freezing rain event at home, Feb '14. Night-time. Street lights provided the warm bg light, and I illuminated the iced boxwood with a very quick flash from a small mag-light during the 5 second exposure.

    Clouds, snow, red rocks....

On a cloudy day back in January, The Totem Pole and Yei Bi Chei in the center, and on the far left, Rooster Rock, near 4.5 miles distant. Some of the marvelous scenery in Monument Valley, and with snow on the ground for an extra bonus.

    620

A little street photography from New Year's Day in the River Market area in Little Rock. Early morning with heavy overcast sky. The finger marks on the awning were the first things that caught my eye, and it kinda grew, (went downhill?), from there.

    Back roads barn

Taking advantage of the lovely cool weather this morning. Tried a new approach to this scene, which I haven't shot in quite a while anyway. Two shot pano, 235mm, f/2.8, in the morning's early light. The crepe myrtle added a lovely bit of color I thought.

San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church

From my April trip, the first day in New Mexico, on the way to Santa Fe I had to stop in Golden for a shot or two of this iconic church. It was quite windy and the sun was well up, thus I knew the scene would end up as a b&w.

    You know where....

Rolling down US 163, about to cross from Utah into Arizona, one must stop for this obligatory, iconic scene. Much as Goosenecks a little before, the position of the sun made this destined for b&w.

    Shiprock Evening

Two hours after the shot at Agathla Peak, I made it to my penultimate stop of the day, 30 April. From US 64, and about 6.5 miles distant, Shiprock in the gloaming. Like Agathla Peak, another sharp butte just popped up out of the flat grasslands. Not quite the peak of sunset color, that came on...

    Agathla Peak

Later on the 30th of April, while racing toward Shiprock in hopes of a sunset, I had to stop here for a shot. Agathla Peak (between Monument Valley and Kayenta). The dappled light from the scattered cloud cover made the late afternoon light even more appealing.

    Goosenecks in b&w

Continuing my drive back on 30 April, now on Hwy 261 and after dropping down off of Cedar Mesa, just before reaching Mexican Hat, I took a side trip to Goosenecks State Park, on the San Juan River. The light was horrible, looking almost directly toward the afternoon sun, so lots of glare and...

    Jacob's Chair.

Another scene found along UT 95 back on 30 April. The sky provided very cool dappled light all over the landscape.

    On the way home...

I posted a b&w version of this earlier. The red barn stood out beautifully against the grasses and blue sky, I thought. Just a few miles east from Las Vegas, NM.

    Fry Canyon view

4-30-19, along UT Hwy 95, between Hite Crossing and Fry Canyon. Two-shot pano. Another striking view in Southern Utah, still blessed that day with great clouds in the sky, offering dappled light on the buttes, mesas and spires.

    Buck Canyon

Another take on Buck Canyon Overlook, Island in the Sky, Canyonlands NP, near Moab, UT. Another striking view with the white rim bordering Buck Canyon, leading to rain falling on the LaSal Mountains in the east.

    Wide Open Spaces

Wide open spaces. One of the things I love most about the west. Finale from my trip in late April. A mile or two farther east from the red barn and opposite side of the hwy. — in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

    On the way home....

5-1-19 heading back to Arkansas. Of course I saw something I needed to shoot. Handsome barn and corral on a hill. Just a few miles east from Las Vegas, NM along Hwy 104. — in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
