    Comet Lemmon

We had a couple of nice nights to get a shot of comet Lemmon. There were trees in the line of site so it was still a little bright when taking the shot. Ioptron 30pro ASI 533mc Canon 100mm f2.8 macro Lens 39 60 sec subs Pixinsight and Photoshop

    Saturn with 3 moons

I finally had a very good night for shooting the planets. I was ready to give up on my planetary imaging since moving to Oregon from florida over two years ago. This was taken with the Celestron 9.25 Edge with a 2.5 Powermate and the ASI 224 camera. I stacked 20% of 2000 frames in Autostakkert...

    NGC 6905 Blue Flash Nebula

I thought this one was pretty interesting. Looks like a football or a kids drawing of Saturn. Celestron Edge 9.25 w/reducer 30-120 sec Ha and 30-120 sec OIII ASI 1600mm camera.

    Fetus nebula, NGC 7008

I took this shot with the Celestron 9.25 Edge and 0.7 reducer. ASI 1600 mm. 40 - 60 sec subs for each color filter. I did not do luminance subs. The shot is cropped considerably. Bortle 7

    M27rgb and Hoo combined

I combined the rgb from the ASI 533 MC with the Ha and OII of the ASI 1600mm using the NBRGBcombine script. I did 42-360 sec Ha, 30 -360 sec OII and 90-60 sec subs rgb. I wish I would have done less time on the narrowband because it was difficult to bring out the core.

M27 and a couple of sun shots

I haven't taken very many shots lately. I have been doing more solar than deep sky. I'm starting to do some deep sky again and hoping to get out to a dark site. M27 was taken from my backyard which sorry to say it the most light polluted area of the sky, Bortle 7. I used the 9.25 edge with the...

Mars, Orion, and wide field Christmas tree to Rosette

It's been a while since posting here. We finally had clear nights for a record ammount of days in Portland area. I was able to set up and leave my scope set up for days. I shot the Orion Nebula with the Tak FSQ106 w/0.73 reducer and the ASI533mc and shot 60 second subs and 10 second subs and...

    Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) on 10-13-24

I'm surprised there arn't that many shots of the comet. I'm sure they will be coming. I've been in a slump for imaging, I've been doing it for so long I needed to take a little break. I did get inspired by this naked eye comet. It did get a little cloudy but the tail was still visible through...

    Crescent and Soap Bubble nebula.

This is an image I took a couple of years ago and decided to reprocess it. I did not notice the soap bubble until I removed all the stars in Pixinsight. It was really faint and hard to bring it out. I processed most of it using masking in photoshop to bring out the soap bubble. I do better...

    Blue Horsehead Nebula

This is the Blue Horsehead Nebula IC 4592. This is a reflection nebula close to the top left bright star in Scopius, Beta Scorpius. I tried to image this object in Florida but it is a summer object and we very seldon had a clear nights from June until October so I did not get enough exposures...

The sun was popping today 5-10-24

I couldn't pass up taking a shot of the sun today. I think that is one of the largest prominences I've seen so far. I used the Lunt 60 with the ASI 1600mm camera.

    Sun 3/17-3/18

It's been a while since I imaged anything astro. I would look at the sun, moon and planets every chance I got but just got lazy to do any astrophotography. I think I'm ready to start imaging again. I did try Jupiter and Saturn this year but the seeing in Oregon is nowhere near the seeing I got...

    M 74 with a 27.5" scope

I processed this data I obtained from a 27.5" scope in Spain through Telescope Live. I joined Telescope Live because I wanted to get shots from the Southern hemisphere but also in some cases where I wasn't happy with the shot I got from my location.

    Saturn 2022 and 2023

This is the first shot of Saturn from the Pacific Northwest and I am really missing the steadiness of the skies in SW Florida for shooting the planets. The planets were also high in the sky which makes a difference. I was at 26° lat before now at 45° Seeing is everything when doing the planets...

North American and Pelican Nebula + Final Version

It's been a while since i've been able to take a shot of anything. I've been busy moving across the country. SW Florida to Oregon was a stressful move but we made it and I started to take some shots again. I miss my observatory I had in Florida but I'm able to image from my back yard. Here is my...

A little better shot of the supernova in M101

I was able to get 52 minutes on M101 last night before the clouds came in. I used an Optolong L-pro light pollution filter in Bortle 8 skies at f8 with my FSQ106 and the 1.6 extender. The supernova is really bright. That would be great if one happened in our galaxy.

    Supernova in m101

This is a one 180 second shot from my light polluted back yard with a satellite going though on the only shot I took before the clouds ruined the night. I at least had a chance to get it. My ASI 533 is acting strange, I am getting a lot of hot pixels for about the first 10 minutes and then they...

Longest prominence on the sun I have recorded

This morning I got set up in time to capture this crazy long prominence. This was the longet prominence I've ever protographed. You can see how small the earth looks. By the time I was done with the session the long prominence disappeared.
