Fall Color up The Mountain Loop

The Mountain Loop Highway is my local gateway to the Cascades. I can be up hiking on Mt. Pilchuck in 45 min., or further up like yesterday in a little over an hour of beautiful stress free driving. Fall color is as good as it gets around here. Perry Creek trail didn't disappoint, although I missed the afternoon light backlighting the leaves when clouds rolled in on my way down.

I like to stack rocks in my yard, apparently so does mother nature on this boulder slope

The colors in your area appear more advanced than what I am seeing farther south. I like the scene with the clouds in the last image.

I love these fall days when we can drive up into our local alpine country on a coll crisp day. It does not get any better than this. Gorgeous images here Jim.
