Jameel, very nice image. I like the way you handled the light in this. I disagree with you that cloudy light is better for this location. Most of my better images are with the filter sunlight adding to the image, I guess to each their own.

What I wanted to say was that a bright sunny day makes it very challenging to handle. The filtered sunlight does provide more punch if it can be handled. I have other images (taken at a different time) where the sunlight was harsher and it didn't work well.

Yes, you're right bright light can really mess with a shot. You did a great job on this one.

Just got back from California and I can see I have been left in the dust with all of these beautiful images. I'll get to them individually soon.

This image is of Bond Falls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It was taken in the fall and is just a small section of a larger ledge.

Sol Duc Falls in the Olympic Peninsula. Normally a cloudy day is ideal for shooting here. Sun filtering thru tests the DR capabilities. This is a single shot, no blending.

Here's a 5 image panorama from the upper viewpoint of the Rob Roy Glacier Track in New Zealand's Mount Aspiring National Park. I decided to go for maximizing the quantity of waterfalls in my contribution this week. The larger fall to the left is referred to as yet another "Bridal Veil Falls" and for scale is reported as 261 meters tall.

Thanks for starting this again Alan. Is that shot of Multnomoah after the fire? If so it seems to have escaped.

Here is one of mine from along the McKinzie hwy. Maybe somebody knows the name of it. Most years I am comming home from Oregon this hwy is closed, and last time a bridge was down forcing a 100 mile detour.

Such a classic waterfall! I haven't seen it since 1977 or so.
Here's another classic but from Iceland: Gulfoss. This isn't a monochrome -- just the colors or lack of that day.

It's Wednesday so time for more waterfalls.

News from the Columbia River Gorge - they are removing the chain link fence around the lower viewing area for Multnomah Falls as of this weekend so you can now view the falls again directly. The old highway is still closed along with all hiking trails that lead from it. There are no dates being projected for opening any of the closed trails and the old highway and the general consensus in the news was not to count on them opening this year.

I really like this soft light and the pastel colors, Alan. I have tried to shoot these falls with considerably less success than this.
