It's Wednesday so time for more waterfalls.

News from the Columbia River Gorge - they are removing the chain link fence around the lower viewing area for Multnomah Falls as of this weekend so you can now view the falls again directly. The old highway is still closed along with all hiking trails that lead from it. There are no dates being projected for opening any of the closed trails and the old highway and the general consensus in the news was not to count on them opening this year.

Such a classic waterfall! I haven't seen it since 1977 or so.
Here's another classic but from Iceland: Gulfoss. This isn't a monochrome -- just the colors or lack of that day.

Here is one of mine from along the McKinzie hwy. Maybe somebody knows the name of it. Most years I am comming home from Oregon this hwy is closed, and last time a bridge was down forcing a 100 mile detour.

Here's a 5 image panorama from the upper viewpoint of the Rob Roy Glacier Track in New Zealand's Mount Aspiring National Park. I decided to go for maximizing the quantity of waterfalls in my contribution this week. The larger fall to the left is referred to as yet another "Bridal Veil Falls" and for scale is reported as 261 meters tall.

And just for grins, another shot of Bridal Veil Falls framed by trees at the lower viewpoint.

Ben - my shot of Multnomah is from 2009. Most of the scene in my image is intact with the exception of some scorched vegetation at the edges. The fire came down the hillside off to the right of what's in my image and threatened the lodge but none the hillside that was impacted shows in my image. The trail to the upper bridge is closed.

I do not know the name of the falls you posted.

The larger fall to the left is referred to as yet another "Bridal Veil Falls" and for scale is reported as 261 meters tall.


And just for grins, another shot of Bridal Veil Falls framed by trees at the lower viewpoint.

Those are some nice falls. It looks like the vegetation is slowly starting to change towards fall down there. I think it would take a while to adjust to the opposite seasons if you moved down there.

Cool, the snow / ice int his tie in to the water well, was surprised to hear it wasn't monochrome. Nice image.

Jameel, very nice image. I like the way you handled the light in this. I disagree with you that cloudy light is better for this location. Most of my better images are with the filter sunlight adding to the image, I guess to each their own.
