Wow Joe!!! That’s amazing, perhaps a once in a lifetime photo? I have never seen anything like that.

Why was the fish jumping?

Love it! Kudos on a great shot. If you put locations, it will help me with identification. Okay, I know very little about fish, however, I may have seen this fish in the coastal waters of the Chesapeake Bay. I think it's an Atlantic Menhaden. I'm pretty sure that is a juvenile laughing gull

Not much the fish could do once things reached the stage in your first shot. Nice lunch for the gull!
And good eye contact for your lens.

They tried to steal it, but he got away with it.
