Wow Oliver!!! You scored big time! I haven’t heard of Bean Hollow before, I need to check that out. I might do a trip up Big Sur this winter so I can add that to my route.

Jim, it's a little beach only locals go to, more so a spot for the photographers.

Bob put it well. The curve of the waves against the sunset really makes this special. One of the best wave pictures I've seen in a while.

Jim, thanks for the kind words. Yes, it's near high tide, I took dozens of shots to get the wave in the right form & height.

Beautiful and nicely exposed. That sunset gives the image a zen peacefulness despite the crashing of the waves on the rocks.
Bob, thanks, I caught a lucky break, just 2 miles North it was quite foggy.

Jim, I just downed my 2nd shot of brandy, so here is my warning: watch out for the sneaker waves, NEVER turn your back to the sea.

I have seen too many accidents tragedies along the coast.

Beautiful image, Oliver. Congratulations on the Daily Featured Photograph.

Doug, thanks, it's an honor.

Good timing on this. The backlit waves with that light makes it stand out.

Jameel, I have tried various angles at this beach, the weather was playing nice on Sunday, so it was a lucky catch.

This is absolutely a gorgeous image. Love it!

Bob, thank you.

I love this - great light/colors and impressive detail in the wave. Congrats on the feature
Kyle, thanks ! I did try a few variations of shutter speed to get it right.
