When it comes to bears, everyone wants to capture the action, interplay, intimacy and feeding of these magnificent creatures in their own pristine environment. I was fortunate recently to photograph all of that in Katmai, Alaska. But I often felt a personal connection to them through their willingness to allow me in their home. Facial expression and eye contact were very communicative and compelling. I was honored to have been accepted there. Here's what that looks like.

That is a very compelling image Jeffrey, and that look is sure locked right in. I also like the even matting of it's fur.

Though.... on the other hand it looks like it is wondering if you taste like chicken...
