Y Not. :)

Back last month south of Joshua Tree the Ocotillo trees were in full bloom and it was a blast to see. I captured the whole tree in a few shots, but I also enjoyed going closer as I did here. I left the negative space (blue) in it as I thought it emphasized the Y shape.

All comments are welcome,

Jim

Almost a bit of a minimalist shot with all the blue behind the bloom. There is a slight amount of banding in the blue just above the ocotillo.

Neat shot, and I understand the negative space, but maybe go to a 5x7 crop with just a bot off the top

Thanks Alan. Minimalist was the idea. That's odd about the banding, I had to really squint but I can make out a bit of banding too, not sure where that came from.

There are a lot of ocotillo's blooming prolifically this year. Nice job on this one, Jim. I don't see the banding. Did you fix it?
Thanks Doug, that's interesting you guys also are getting some great blooms from them. Some years they barely look like they are alive.

I haven't touched the banding, I had to really stare to be able to detect it at all. Alan has bionic eyes I think. :)
