Eric is in Ecuador and asked me too start this thread including his image and introduction to this week's thread.

For the Twelfth “Winged Wednesday,” I have selected a pair of King Vultures. It appears one is talking to the other. Perhaps, saying, “be calm, and carrion.”

Those King Vultures are so ugly but so cool at the same time.

Gosh those guys are remarkably ugly but certainly colorful.

My contribution is another image from the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge with some swans in flight. Not certain of the specifics for identification with this view of the birds.

I found this little winged creature during the hike up to Blue Lakes in Colorado with Amy from a month ago.

And here is my contribution. This is a female Anna's Hummingbird nectaring on a columbine. As you might have guessed it was taken in Eric's backyard.

Yesterday was crazy cool ! This beautiful Red-Tailed Hawk smashed through our back screened in porch with a chipmunk. The hawk got out and we put the chipmunk under a tree. Later the chippie was gone so glad the RTH got this food back.
