Snapshots from a day out in the sun. We went out with friends to Derwentwater for a walk when a duck brought her 11 ducklings along. I seldom photograph anything that moves faster than a mountain so was totally unprepared for the speed that ducklings move at, especially when they are running between your legs. I managed these 3 that make up in cuteness what they lack in sharpness. Next time it will be 1/500s minimum. Ken

I'm not a bird photographer.....mostly just backyard visitors. And they're rarely colorful like Eric's or the others I see here (even the bee :) ).

This is an action shot I was lucky to get once. I think it's a female black-chinned. We do have many hummingbirds every summer.

You might have to revise your non-bird photographer status... This is a remarkable shot and not easy to get.

I'm sticking with Eric's theme of 'black' in the name.

Male Brewer's Blackbird

Female Brewer's Blackbird

Male Red-winged Blackbird

Black-headed Gull (taken in the Netherlands)
The expression on the blackbird in the first image looks like something that should be an internet meme for an angry bird :)
