Confusion! It is difficult to tell the juvenile Cooper’s Hawk and from the juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk . I think this is a sharpie because:
1. The head of the Sharpie is smaller, thus the eye appears larger and more forward than the Cooper's
2. Your bird doesn't have the dark throat stripe like the Cooper's
3. Your bird as a broad buffy brown breast pattern; Cooper's has thinner, cleaner, dark brown tear shaped breast pattern
4. Your bird's tail feathers give a square-off shape to the tail. Cooper's outer tail feathers are shorter; thus when the tail is flared the tail looks round

That's a wonderful photo,Brian. High marks for details , bokeh and the egg too. I'm hoping that's a house sparrow or Eurasian Collared dove egg... both are pure whiteI was hanging out at the air force base looking for some of the other type of flyers and this raven landed near the car and picked up this egg near a trash can. I just thought it was kind of neat to watch while I waited for the jets to come by.

Honestly I'm not sure. He is right by a trash can that I cropped out. So unfortunately it's probably someone’s trash they threw out. Where I was hanging out isn't exactly the best part of town. Thank you for the compliments. I do appreciate it.
