Winged Wednesday 2/8/2020

To start off today's Winged Wednesday I offer seven photos from a walk at Bubbling ponds, Page Spring, Yavapai County, Arizona. It's not difficult to find winged creatures to photograph... life forms with wings are ubiquitous. Additionally, I photographed Lizards, frogs, flowers, reflections and more. I did not included them on Winged Wednesday because they didn't have wings. All photographs were hand held and taken with the Sony a9 and the Sony FE 200 to 600 mm

Black-Crowned Night-heron (Nycticorax nycticorax)

Great-tailed Grackle ( Quiscalus mexicanus)

Flame Skimmer (Libellela saturata)

Twelve-spotted skimmer (Libellula pulchella)

the still water of the pond was disturbed by a lone honey bee... the flurry of wingbeats creating a ripple pattern of waves that nudges the bee toward the shore.

Common blue damselfly (Enallagma cyathigerum) hitching a ride on wood duck flight feather

This one is of a Herring Gull giving a lecture to a classroom full of Common Murries along the Oregon coast. I don't know what he is saying, but it appears that they at least give a shit.
