Excellent! Thanks for starting this Eric and an incredible kick off. That Sony camera and lens combo looks like a great birding outfit.

Doug, great shot of my favorite duck the Woodie. Here is another one of my favorite birds. It was possible to photograph these at one of their favorite haunts near my house until a river otter moved in and chased them away. I haven't seen them for seven years. It makes me sad when I look at the images I got there.

Yes they are.Are those barn owls? I've never seen them up close like that. Strange faces...
World class Eric!!! I love how you used the light in these! How is the new 200-600mm?I went to Bubbling ponds yesterday to photograph something with wings for today's Winged Wednesday and practice using my Sony A9 with the Sony FE 200-600 zoom lens. As I photographed two great Blue Herons it became more and more interesting as my mind flowed to a creative zone where I was envisioning the final photograph before taking it. Hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them

"Wait for it, wait for it," I kept saying over and over to myself. Wait for the sun to break through the storm clouds on the horizon. Wait for the sun to light-up the soaring heron against a dark sky.

Thanks Eric. I appreciate it.Stunning photo, Brian. The snow is beautifully photographed too. H
The lens is great and easily hand held. I am extremely happy with Sony. However I just used the Canon 1DXIII and it is a better camera. The Canon mirrorless may be better than Sony too. Doesn't matter as I love my Sony.World class Eric!!! I love how you used the light in these! How is the new 200-600mm?
thats cheating, a beautiful landscape with that teeny little bird.Tough acts to follow with my landscape images that happen to include birds.
This is a pair of Black Oystercatchers along the shoreline near Brookings.
