Eric will be gone this week and next and has asked me to start this thread. The birds shown below are those typical of the spring in my area. I look forward to your contributions.

Lazuli buntings are one of the prettiest spring migrants.

Northern cardinals are brilliant red and have an easily recognized song. This one is sitting on an ocotillo plant.

Northern mockingbird. If you want to know what birds are in your area this bird will sing all of their songs.

Hooded orioles come to my Palo Verde tree and nectar on the beautiful flowers. This is a juvenile male.

Thanks Douglas for the great series. Except for the Cardinal I have never seen these birds so really enjoyed looking at the images.

I have a few spring/migration related images for this week.

The Black-billed Magpies have started making nests or refreshing old ones.

This pair was working away at a nest just down the back alley from me.

Thanks Doug - the lens is a Canon RF 100-500 f/4.5-7.1 L mounted on a Canon R5 Mark II.
Thanks, Alan.

I love those magpie images, Trent and the Canada geese. The tree swallow numbers in one tree are impressive.
