Wildfires have been active all around the National Monument according to an article in the Oregonian newspaper this morning. The fire has not burned the Painted Hills themselves but have burned the hills surrounding them. The National Parks Service has closed all three units of the national monument for now.

Yikes, that actually came across my feed today, but I didn't click on it, I just saw the headline about a major road in Oregon shutting down. Thanks for filling in the blanks for me.

Maybe because all I am heading about is the wildflires in Colorado, I hadn't even heard until 2 days ago that Oregon was having lot's of wildfires as well.

The headline you saw might have been for I-84. That interstate got shut down yesterday afternoon between Baker City and Ontario, Idaho but has been reopened now.
