this is not a bird you see in Arizona very often as they usually live in the Arctic and up in those cold climates by the sea - but a pair has made it down to the Phoenix area and become quite the birding attraction -

Marcy, this is a very interesting post, we have them here in Birch Bay Washington, near my home, but I only see them come up with clams. Different look to see them with fish. Love these shots, Nice group of photo's.

the Scoters were hanging out at Kiwanis Park in Tempe AZ - west of Mill ave on Baseline - and those are small fish in their mouth
