Weekly challange

I am submitting one of these two images for critique for entry into this weeks challenge "fruit". This has been a customary practice at other forums so I am trying it out here.

If anyone thinks this is cheating, also let me know.

I think the oranges, if that is what we are supposed to do, as they are sharp. The only thing about them is you can see whatever the top orange is leaning against?

Hey Ben,

This is a good use of the Critique Forum!

I want to like #1, but if only that 1 crabapple in the very front was in focus. Shoot it again to get it in focus, and I think it will be better. Also maybe pull a little more cyan out of the sky? #1 though is more original.

#2 is a very classic shot and well done, though not as original as #1. As far as the look of it, you nailed this.

Nope, you have to do apples! You can't do oranges.

And after you shoot the apples, please bake them into a pie and invite me over for desert please. :)

Thanks Jim, got to get some action here, where is Jeff who is used to this stuff?

I had the same thought on the first one which is why I did the second. It was about 27 degrees out there and it's really hard for me to get a jacket on. I may try again tomorrow, too bright now.

That is why I went for oranges, as the out of focus crabapples seemed vey distracting.

This is a simple critique post. A good use of critique is to post stuff to get opinions here before posting a final image at the regular forums. After few opinions, I will make any changes needed and then post in this weeks contest per the new rules.

Do we have to start our own thread for critique of photos for contest or add them here?
Yep, as Ben said, you can post a photo you think you want to enter into the contest here to get some ideas or suggestions on it. You don’t have to, it’s something Ben and Some others like to do. It can be fun though, and it helps to get a second opinion before posting.

After you finalize your edits, then you will go and Create a thread in the contest forum to enter it. Make sure you title the thread as instructed for the current week.
