Waterfall Wednesday 9/8/2021

Almost hard to believe but I think today marks 4 years worth of Waterfall Wednesdays.

That said - time for more

My starter falls for today are Heavenly Falls from a late fall visit to the Portland Japanese Garden. Most of the fall leaves had already dropped but this one tree next to the falls was still putting on a color show and begging for a portrait.

I am having to dig deep to find any waterfall shots. Rainfall this year has been very low and today I am hiding in the house as it is 80+F outside, strange weather for us. Two images from Aberfeldy in central Scotland taken 5 years apart. Ken

Both of these are beautiful falls. I love the fall leaves along the banks in the first image and the wonderful greens and light in the second.

Not partially artificial - it is entirely artificial as a part of the water features in the Portland Japanese Garden. There is a pumping station as the lowest point in the garden that moves the water to the top of these falls where gravity takes over to feed the water features at lower elevations on its way back down to the pump. The rocks and the nearby plantings (like this tree) are entirely planned out by the garden designers.

Guess what? I found another waterfall image. This one is along Fossil Creek in Arizona.

Neat waterfalls Jameel - I have driven past this place in the winter but have never been there in other seasons and stopped for these falls.

Definitely busy but most natural scenes like this are anyway. Neat having the small yellow blooms down in front too.

Thanks Alan. It struck me as busy scene, but not a busy distracting scene with dead branches, etc all around where the eye doesn't know where to focus.

Ken, I really love the 2nd one. The lush green is the perfect drop for the silky smooth waterfalls.

Really nice to get the rainbow off of these falls. These falls have always been fascinating to me where the water seems to come from nowhere.
