Another week and another round of falling water

My falls for today have no formal name and neither does the creek that feeds them. This is in Glacier National Park on the east side of Lake Josephine. In this image the view is from the Grinnell Glacier trail using a 400mm lens during a fall visit. There are a couple of trails along the east side of the lake that might offer a closer view of the falls including the continental divide trail but I have never hiked over there.

Very cool - my favorite place for shooting small scenes of falling water. Opportunities for shots like this are almost endless in that stretch of the creek.

Beautifully framed falls beyond the arch of the bridge. I love the mood of this scene with the overcast skies and lush vegetation.

This plus the rain falling right now really sets my mood for fall right now. Nice timing and some beautiful falls.

This is Hickory Nut Falls in Chimney Rock State Park in North Carolina. Shortly before this, my parents and I got caught in a thunderstorm on the trail leading to the waterfall and we were all soaked to the skin.

So were these falls running before the downpour started? Lots of scenes like this in Zion N.P. during and right after thunderstorms with dry cliff faces an hour later.

They were, but the flow when we were at the base wasn’t at the level in this image.

Appropriately named Blackwater River.

An interesting environment full of rocks and cliffs, in which this river flows... and it really does seem black. I like this shot, Ken.

I was hesitant to add this hackneyed waterfall of mine again.. the only reason is the new processing using the Fuji Velvia profile, which has gorgeous, rich, vibrant colors.
I'm looking forward to fall!
