Mt waterfalls this week are from Yellowstone National Park along the Little Firehole River - Mystic Falls. I liked the falls but couldn't really find a good spot to shoot them from without being able to levitate over the river. A cloudy day would have helped too but I couldn't do anything about that either.

Pile on with whatever you have showing falling water.

Very nice. You keep tempting me with the early morning light on these falls. It's hard to get good shots of them during daylight hours since they get so much direct sunshine combined with deep shadows.
It's the only way to go, for me. Downsides are a) for Panther falls, it's 1.75 hours from home to trailhead, so with a 0530 sunrise, I need to be out the door around 0345, in the fall, it's better to go in fall so you can sleep later b) lower light levels before any direct sun means longer exposures/higher ISOs are needed. But the upsides are a) even lighting - skylight only, no direct b) you have the place to yourself, and this makes for the absolute best experience whether you're making photos or just watching the water!

You make a compelling case for early light in mid winter when I can still keep getting my beauty sleep which I obviously need :)

For my Waterfall Wednesday a little stream in the Central Sierra from the drone’s point of view. The second two are the same cascade from different perspectives. The first is a pothole long used as a swimming hole carved 8’+ in the granite face.

Sweet! I love a drone's eye perspective on scenes like these since it allows us to have a tripod in the air we can't hike to :) How are people accessing the pocket hole to swim in the scene shown in the first image? Ropes? Delightful series!

After the spring runoff, access is climbing up the rocks on the right side of the pothole looking upstream. There’s a ledge next to the pool that you can’t see in the picture. Thanks!
