Time for more waterfalls :)

My offering for today is an unnamed set of intermittent falls in the Columbia River Gorge. These falls are located right along a trail that leads from Wahkeena Falls to Multnomah Falls and would likely get you wet if you were hiking on the trail which is visible just beyond the Union Pacific tracks and the Historic Highway. Single shot at 70mm from an altitude of about 300'.

This is Fairy Falls on Wahkeena Creek in the Gorge. Seeing this little gem is the reward you get for climbing 1000 feet in just one mile.

I love those falls - one of the most symmetrical sets of falls in the Gorge. The switchback trail to get there is a nasty hike with a lot of camera gear however. Part of that trail is visible in the upper right corner of the shot I posted above. Nice shot of the falls.

I visited Sweet Creek this weekend for the first time. No wonder so many on this forum enjoy this place!

Very nice shot - you must have leaned quite a ways over the rail at the upper viewing platform to get this shot. That is definitely a high flow rate for this place. There is another viewpoint for the upper falls here - drive farther up Sweet Creek Road until you cross over the creek and there is a small parking area with a trailhead that leads around the west side of the creek and a viewing platform off to the right of this scene with a direct view of these upper falls.

Thanks, Alan. I saw the trail on the other side of the creek and was wondering how those people got over there. Next time!

When the creek is running very low you can actually just cross the creek just below those falls. Getting up to the viewing platform is a bit of a scramble but kids have worn a path through the blackberries.
