This is a mid winter scene at Merriman Falls near Quinault Lake on the Olympic peninsula. Snow isn't common in this locale but they do get an occasional dusting that can create some fun photo opportunities. This from a mid February visit a number of years ago.

Nice one Michael - and you are definitely right about the moss. These falls are tucked under the cliffs walls of the Gorge in a way that keeps this area in deep shadows year round and a true haven for the moss.

I really like the trail view of the falls in the first image. Neat perspective on the falling water. The clouds encircling the cliff top in the second image adds a nice sense of mystery to the scene in the second image.
