Waterfall Wednesday 2/7/2024

I managed to get a good day last week to get up the Gorge for the winter waterfalls. Most of the snow that shut everything down had melted which helps feed the intermittent falls so exactly what I was hoping for. Low clouds were everywhere and made for a fitting scene with the clouds providing a misty view of Mist Falls. This was a stack of 7 images shot at 70mm.

Those kind of misty mornings just make me happy to live so close to such a beautiful place. Lovely image!
Thanks - I have been in love with the Gorge ever since I moved up here 25 years ago and being able to fly with a camera has opened up a whole new way of capturing its beauty.

This is Burney Falls in Northern California. Captured just before sunrise to keep the contrast down.
Very nice - I like this close in view of the cascades in this set of falls. Gives a different mood to the scene compared to the usual wide angle views.

The closest I could get to a waterfall this week was a crazy warm spell with rain coming down and the temperature just around freezing. This is weather I expect in March not late January. It will keep the orthopaedic departments busy with so many people slipping and breaking bones.
This is a view from my front window just after a few cars slid through the intersection.

So the people are the ones falling because of the water? 😁 Conditions like that are scary even if you put cleats on your boots.

This image was taken 6 hrs ago. I went for a walk in very changeable conditions, rain, snow, hail and sunshine, this was rain. Lots more to come. Ken
That is a fairly wet looking scene and not confined to the ground. The stormy conditions do make a nice scene out of these waterfalls.
